Sedona Show - Michael Chesley Johnson

"Thunder Mountain, Backlit" 8x10, oil, en plein air

(Thanks for the invitation, Mary Ann! I'm hoping this is in keeping with your blog concept.)

My three-month stint in Sedona, Arizona, is about to end.   To celebrate the end of our stay, Trina and I will be hosting a sale of my winter work. The sale will be at the Theater Classroom in the Sedona Arts Center, Thursday and Friday, March 26-27, from 2-5 pm. I'll be there for a "Meet the Artist" on Thursday from 4-5. (I'm teaching a pastel-only workshop for SAC that week, but I wanted to make sure I get to meet everyone!) We'll have both oil and pastel, from big to small, framed and unframed, all at reasonable prices. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit Arts Center. You can get a preview - and purchase paintings before the sale - at www.MichaelChesleyJohnson.com/html/sedona.htm. As always, I'll give 10% discount if you buy more than one. For those of you in the Sedona/Phoenix/Scottsdale area, please come by!

How this experiment works ...

It may have been a bit impulsive of me but I've invited a number of painters (who blog) and who I respect, if they would like to participate as contributors to this blog, thinking it might be a good place to post occasionally when there is news that might warrant an extra splash on the 'net. New shows, new paintings, upcoming workshops and the like.

Kurt Ankeny has answered the call. He's a painter and illustrator based in Massachusetts. So I'm hoping he'll post some news as he sees fit. I'm hoping to have some news soon too.

On the right, you'll see a news feed comprising the latest posts from the aforementioned invited painter' respective blogs. Check it out. And thanks for being part of this experiment.
